Many of our brides choose to have a winter wedding as it is one of the most romantic wedding seasons. Get creative with a winter wonderland or wow your guests with creative wedding décor, the magic of sparkling Christmas lights or an uber glam event that will be the highlight of their year. One of our favourite winter weddings in 2019 was Niamh’s Trim Castle Hotel wedding last November. We’re thrilled to be able to show you some of her stunning wedding photos which feature our decor and flowers in both her civil ceremony and the wedding reception. We have quite a few brides and grooms enquiring with us about winter weddings later this year so we thought this would be the perfect blog post to provide you with some inspo!
One way to really make your wedding reception stand is to create dramatic contrasts between the lighting of your reception and your table centrepieces. Niamh wanted something with a winter feel to it so we knew our willow tree centrepieces with sparkling snow inside would be the perfect table decor for her wedding in Trim Castle Hotel. We used hanging tealights and small tealights around the base of her centrepieces to create a romantic glow, against the backdrop of fairylights and white draping there was such an amazing feel to the room.
Flowers were always going to feature big in Niamh’s wedding. For her stunning civil ceremony, which was set against a backdrop of twinkling fairylights, we used large floral arrangements on either side of of the alter to add an elegant touch to the ceremony room. We designed luscious floral arrangements to be used on the back of the bride and groom chairs and used small floral trinkets on her ceremony table to tie all of the decor together and create a breathtaking backdrop for our lovely couple to exchange their vows in front of.
For Niamh’s wedding bouquet and bridesmaids bouquets we used classic bridal white flowers, a mix of roses and hydrangea, with luxurious greenery. The bride’s bouquet was overflowing with artful florals, with a smaller version for each of her beautiful bridesmaids.
